What to Expect

    

When a Company is looking at introducing drug and alcohol testing into their workplace there are some key elements to be considered.

As part of working with WorkCare NZ Northland:

  • We can help formulate a robust drug and alcohol policy, or ensure the current policy is up to date.

  • We can offer ‘toolbox’ talks and education for staff, to help them understand the effects of drugs and alcohol.

  • We ensure staff will receive information on how the policy will affect them in the workplace.

The types of testing to be conducted:

  • Urine testing in accordance with the AS/NZS 4308:2008 standards

  • Oral Fluid

  • Hair Testing

The reasons you may consider using the testing we have available:

  • Pre employment, prevent the potential being introduced into the workplace

  • Random, We can offer an independent selection process

  • Post Incident, as part of your investigation

  • Reasonable Cause, if you believe that an employee is at risk
